Minulla oli kunnia tulla valituksi yhdeksi Taideyliopiston kolmesta vuoden 2023 alumnista ja edustaa Teatterikorkeakoulua, jossa opiskelin ensiksi 1977-1981, päätin tohtoriopintoni 1999 (1998) ja työskentelin myöhemmin esitystaiteen ja -teorian professorina ja taiteellisen tutkimuksen professorina. Konstuniversitetets alumna 2023
Jag hade äran att bli utvald som en av Konstuniversitetets tre alumni för år 2023, att representera Teaterhögskolan, där jag först studerade 1977-1981, avslutade min doktorsexamen 1999 (1998) och senare arbetade som professor i performance konst och teori och som professor i konstnärlig forskning. Nyheten med årets tre alumni eller alumner från konstuniversitetet är här.

Animal Years can now be viewed on Harakka Island via QR codes, thanks to the curators Anna Jensen and Eliisa Suvanto and the exhibition The Artists’ Island. Here below are snapshots of the locations of the QR codes. Most of them are on the spots where I performed, only a few are in places closer to the place of the camera tripod.

Thank you 2022 – Welcome 2023!
Looking back, my first impression of the past year was that besides the slow return to ‘normal’ life after the pandemic restrictions or the shock and horror of the war in Ukraine not much happened to me, personally. Some recently received rejections to various applications created the impression that I did not accomplish that much. When I look back at the list of events, talks and publications, the opposite is the case; I have to be grateful for the many invitations and opportunities during the year. Perhaps the main achievements, considering what I promised to do in my work plan for the TAIKE grant, are the exhibition in Forum Box in February and the publication of the book Performing and Thinking with Trees in December, both related to my previous project Meetings with Remarkable and Unremarkable Trees. The podcast Talking with Trees, which I experimented with already the previous year I have now actively worked with as part of my current project Pondering with Pines. Other exciting experiences, gifts of the year, were the Wood Art Residency Bodafors, the group residency In Light of Plants and performing in Epidermis by Sanna Kekäläinen. And yes, participating live in conferences in Weimar and Reykjavik and in the Bang Bang performance art festival in Basel and Seven of Sevenin Myymälä2 in Helsinki and yes, and many other events…Thank you to all of you!

Tack 2022 – Välkommen 2023!
Då jag blickade tillbaka var mitt första intryck av det gångna året att utöver den långsamma återgången till det ‘normala’ efter pandemirestriktionerna eller shocken och skräcken i och med kriget i Ukraina hade det inte hänt särskilt mycket mig personligen. Några avslag till mina olika ansökningar jag fick nyligen skapade intrycket att jag inte lyckats uträtta särskilt mycket. När jag tittar på listan av evenemang, föredrag och publikationer är läget snarare det motsatta; jag måste vara tacksam för de många invitationer och möjligheter jag fått under året. Kanske de viktigaste resultaten, med hänsyn till vad jag lovade i planen för TAIKE stipendiet är utställningen i Forum Box i februari och boken Performing and Thinking with Trees som kom ut i december, båda med anknytning till mitt tidigare projekt Möten med betydande och obetydliga träd (Meetings with Remarkable and Unremarkable Trees). Podcasten Talar med träd (Talking with Trees), som jag experimenterade med redan året innan, har jag nu aktivt arbetat med som en del av mitt nuvarande projekt Funderar med furor (Pondering with Pines). Andra spännande upplevelser, årets gåvor, var Wood Art Residency Bodafors, gruppresidenset In Light of Plants och upplevelsen att uppträda i Sanna Kekäläinens verk Epidermis. Och dessutom att delta på plats i konferenser i Weimar och Reykjavik och i performance festivalen Bang Bang i Basel och Seven of Seven i Myymälä2 i Helsingfors och många andra tillställningar…Tack till er alla!
Jag har räknat upp de olika aktiviteterna i grupper här nedan, i kronologisk ordning snarare än med det senaste högst upp som man brukar i en blogg, huvudsakligen för bokföringens skull. När jag blir äldre glömmer jag lätt vad som hände, var och när… (jag översätter en del av dem så småningom)
