Animal Years is a series of performances for camera realized in the years 2003-2014 on Harakka Island. The name is based on the twelve year cycle of the Chinese calendar. The performances were repeated approximately once a week for a year in the same place and recorded with the same framing of the image with the camera on a tripod. The video works form a kind of memory of the landscape; they show the shifting seasons and the changes that weather and climate cause in the environment.
